Cellulite Treatment
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is a cosmetic condition many women experience on their thighs, buttocks, or abdomen. Its appearance is that of bumpy, uneven skin resulting from displaced fat and toxins trapped above the fibrous bands of connective tissue in the dermal layer of skin. As a result, tissue becomes compressed and hardened, making blood circulation difficult, resulting in cellulite.
Predominately found in women, cellulite is rarely ever found in males. Even though cellulite is fat, it is actually not a symptom of obesity. This condition can easily occur in thin as well as overweight women. This unattractive skin appearance has been called rippling, or more commonly “cottage cheese.”
What causes cellulite?
Poor circulation, fluid retention in layers of fat under the skin, and stretched connective tissues that cause swelling of the tissue and skin is the primary cause of the cellulite.
tress, poor health and diet, as well as female hormones are a large factor in cellulite accumulation, which is why women are the primary prey for the orange peel appearance.
Am I the right candidate for the Cellulite treatment?
If you have cellulite on your legs, bottom or arms, and would like smoother and more radiant skin tone, then you should explore the treatments available for cellulite. People who have tried to rid their bodies of cellulite using a strict diet and exercise are encouraged to try the treatments, which are both particularly good for eliminating stubborn patches of cellulite. The above treatments can also be used to improve skin tone and radiance generally, and the appearance of scar tissue and burns.
How is cellulite treatment done?
The two most common ways cellulite treatment is performed is through Endermologie and Mesotherapy.
Endermologie a deep massage and suctioning treatment that focuses on breaking up the underlying tissue and improving circulation so fat deposits and trapped fluids can be reabsorbed into the body. This procedure can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area to be treated. The best results require several sessions a week for few weeks.
Through gentle suction on the skin's surface and moderate rolling, kneading and lifting of the skin, the venous and lymphatic systems are stimulated, which increases blood flow and releases toxins. This helps to break up the fibrous tissue that holds onto fat cells and permits fluid build up to be released. The result is an increase in collagen and elastin production, increased blood flow, and a refreshed and healthier appearance of the skin. Several sessions will yield toning and firming, inches lost, and a smoother, refined contour to the area. Endermologie can be used to treat the thighs, abdomen, buttocks, back and hips.
Mesotherapy involves injecting small amounts of medications, amino acids, and vitamins into the mesoderm layer of the skin to break down the cellulite and to improve circulation. The procedure takes about ten minutes and are only as painful as a slight pin prick. The injections of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and medications are positioned just under the skin, or the mesoderm, to break up the cellulite and network of connective tissues that form and lock in fat cells.
Mesotherapy's cosmetic application also treats various skin conditions such as acne, cellulite, stretch marks, scars and wrinkles. Additionally, Mesotherapy is frequently used to eliminate sagging skin of the face and neck, retard the progression of wrinkling, and rejuvenate complexions offering a more youthful appearance. Occasionally, Mesotherapy is used in conjunction with Botox and/or Restylane to treat and reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles, furrows, lines, etc
When can I resume my activities after the procedure?
Cellulite treatment requires no recovery period and you will be able to return to all normal activity immediately after the procedure.
What results can I expect from cellulite treatment?
You will see noticeable changes in contouring and skin tightening after 10 sessions, and first start seeing a difference after the first 5-6 treatment sessions. Treatments are performed once or twice weekly. Following a course of treatments maintenance sessions are needed to maintain the results of the course.
