Surgery-Related Expenses
The surgery-related expenses include the pre- and post-surgical expenses. What is Neck Lift ?
A Neck Lift entails making a small incision behind the chin and ears which helps the surgeon to tighten the muscles in the neck and remove excess fat through skin. It may take several weeks for swelling to go down and incisions to fade after the neck lift surgery.
After the procedure, a person expects to see a slimmer looking neck with tightened skin.
Neck lift procedures can include:
- Removing excess skin (cervicoplasty)
- Removing or altering neck muscles (platysmaplasty)
- Liposuction to remove excess fat
- Botox injections to address problems with fullness or “bands”
- Kybella injections to remove excess fat under the chin
- Other neck lifting techniques involve lasers, ultrasound and radiofrequency devices, intense pulsed light, and fillers.
Some of the most common concerns that are addressed with a neck lift are:
- Turkey wattle neck
- Excess fat
- Too much skin
A neck lift is often performed along with a face lift. When performed with eye lift or blepharoplasty and brow lift, a neck lift coupled with facelift completely rejuvenates the entire face and neck.

Am I a good Candidate?
In general, good candidates for a neck lift are:
- Healthy individuals who do not have medical conditions that impair healing
- Nonsmokers
- Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations
Some people feel they are not ready for a full facelift because the upper face is still pleasing, however, have excess wrinkling of the neck skin, a double chin or “turkey wattle” and jowl lines.
When the neck area doesn’t match the upper facial appearance, a neck lift may be a good solution.
Types of Neck Lift Procedure
There are two primary types of neck lifts:
Cervicoplasty: In this procedure, excess skin is surgically removed from the neck.
Platysmaplasty: This procedure reduces the banded appearance of the neck by removing, tightening or realigning the muscles of the neck.
How is Neck Lift done?
Step 1
A traditional neck lift incision often begins in the hairline at the level of the sideburn, continues down and around the ear and ends in the posterior hair.
Step 2
Fat may be sculpted or redistributed from the jowls and neck. The tissue underlying the neck skin is repositioned, and commonly the platysma muscle is tightened. Skin is draped over the uplifted contours and excess skin is trimmed away.
Step 3
A separate incision under the chin is often necessary for liposuction of this area and for repair of the muscle. Sutures or skin adhesives close the incisions.
What is the Recovery after Neck Lift like?
It is normal to have mild pain and discomfort for a few days after the surgery which can be managed with pain medications.
You will be given specific instructions including how to care for the surgical site and drains, medications to apply or take orally to aid healing and reduce the potential for infection, specific signs to look for at the surgical site or in your general health and when to follow up with your plastic surgeon.
You can resume routine activities and light exercises in about two weeks, and strenuous work and exercises after six weeks.
What Results Can I Expect from Neck Lift?
The results of neck lift are quite gratifying. You shall get smooth and taut skin on your neck. A neck lift plastic surgery tightens loose and hanging skin from the neck and may also take care of double chin when coupled with liposuction.

Frequently Asked Questions
Neck Lift is quite a popular procedure among people in Mexico, Central and South America. Calf implant surgery is commonly performed in both men and women. Unfortunately, many orthopedic surgeons and family physicians who see patients with a deformed or hypoplastic leg are not aware that augmentation can be performed.
You will have some pain and bruising which will last for a few days after the procedure. Keep your legs elevated which will help reduce the swelling. You will feel heaviness in your legs for the first few days and walking will be a little difficult, which will improve during the second week and thereafter. You will be able to return to normal activities in about 2 weeks, while exercising and rigorous work will have to wait for at least 6-8 weeks.
Fat transfer to calves is an option for people with a good amount of fat available from the donor sites- viz. your abdomen, thighs, arms, hips or buttocks from where the fat can be harvested. The advantage of fat transfer is that your own body fat is being used, so there are nil chances of rejection or infection. But the results may not be as pronounced as implants and a touch up may be required.
You can discuss the pros and cons of both the procedures- fat transfer to calves vs Neck Lift with your surgeon to make an informed decision.
Yes, you can run and do other exercises and work out after 8-10 weeks of the procedure or as directed by your surgeon.
Experience and turn around was great. I wouldn’t mind doing business with them again.
