Factors that affect Septorhinoplasty cost in India

  • Plastic Surgeon's Fees

An important expense when it comes to your septorhinoplasty cost in India is your plastic surgeon's fees. IndiCure hand-picks highly experienced, skilled, board-certified surgeons who are capable of delivering natural-looking results. Although the price tag may vary depending on the experience of the surgeon, you can be assured that you are in safe and skilled hands when you choose plastic surgery in India with IndiCure.

  • Surgical Facility

Having your Septorhinoplasty plastic surgery in an accredited surgical facility by skilled and qualified medical staff is a critical factor. Moreover, the geographical location of this facility in India also affects the initial quote. But IndiCure provides you with a projected estimate that will be all inclusive and affordable.

  • Surgery-Related Expenses

The surgery-related expenses include the pre- and post-surgical expenses. The pre-surgical expenses are associated with the candidacy and the medical history of the patient. This includes the routine medical exams and tests to ensure you're a good fit for rhinoplasty procedures. Post-surgical expenses can include prescription medications, post-surgery nasal packing, and follow-up consultations.

We at IndiCure, understand that you travel with a budget in mind and do not like to be greeted by surprises after arrival in India. We thus club all these expenses and give you the package cost that is inclusive and affordable at the same time.

Your case manager shall give you an estimated cost of your surgery after discussing your medical reports with the surgeon. The final cost, however, shall be confirmed after your consultation with the surgeon.

See How It Works

What is Septorhinoplasty?

A septorhinoplasty is an operation to correct your deviated nasal septum to improve your breathing (septoplasty) and also to improve the appearance of your nose (rhinoplasty). Unlike Rhinoplasty, which is a pure aesthetic procedure to improve the appearance of the nose, septorhinoplasty improves functionality of the nose by eliminating nasal blockage besides improving how your nose looks.

The surgery involves operating on the bones and cartilage that give your nose its shape and structure and making your septum straight. The septum is the cartilage and bone inside your nose that separates your nostrils.

Some people are born with Deviated Nasal Septum (DNS), while sometimes it is caused by trauma and aging, which results in nasal blockage because of the displacement of the wall between the nostrils.

Common symptoms of a deviated septum are trouble in breathing, headaches, sinusitis, bleeding from the nose, partial or total anosmia (inability to smell), snoring among others.

Septoplasty is a great option in such cases where the surgeon corrects the deviated nasal symptom to relieve you from all the above symptoms. The benefits of the surgery include improved breathing, improved sense of smell, better sleep, better sinus drainage and thus fewer headaches because of sinusitis.

Am I a good Candidate?

If you are 18 or above, suffering from deviated nasal septum, have an overall good health, mentally and emotionally stable and have realistic expectations from the surgery, you may be a good candidate for septoplasty. If you are also concerned about the appearance of the nose, you can consult an expert plastic surgeon for septorhinoplasty.

How is Septorhinoplasty done?

Step 1

Proper size and position of the implant is determined preoperatively.

Step 2

An incision is placed on the inner portion of the knee in the natural crease. It passes through the underlying connective tissue and muscles. Then with the help of a blunt dissector an internal pocket is created to make space for the implant to be placed. The implant is then inserted.

Step 3

Sutures are placed and dressed in compression bandages for proper healing and positioning.

What is the Recovery after Septorhinoplasty like?

During recovery, you will feel mild bruising, pain and discomfort which can be easily treated using pain medications. You will have splints placed into the nostrils which are to be worn for a couple of days after the procedure.

Your plastic surgeon would advise some precautions to be followed for a few days after the surgery, which include raising your head while sleeping, avoiding workout and contact sports, refraining from blowing your nose, taking care while pulling shirts over your head to get dressed etc.

You can expect to return to your daily activities after just a couple of days, and physical activities up to 4 weeks after the surgery.

What Results Can I Expect from Septorhinoplasty?

You can expect great results if you have realistic expectations from septorhinoplasty. Not only can you have a better looking nose proportionate to your facial features, Septoplasty gives a much better quality of life, with improved breathing, better sleep and significantly reduced headaches.

Frequently Asked Questions

Septorhinoplasty is quite a popular procedure among people in Mexico, Central and South America. Calf implant surgery is commonly performed in both men and women. Unfortunately, many orthopedic surgeons and family physicians who see patients with a deformed or hypoplastic leg are not aware that augmentation can be performed.

You will have some pain and bruising which will last for a few days after the procedure. Keep your legs elevated which will help reduce the swelling. You will feel heaviness in your legs for the first few days and walking will be a little difficult, which will improve during the second week and thereafter. You will be able to return to normal activities in about 2 weeks, while exercising and rigorous work will have to wait for at least 6-8 weeks.

Fat transfer to calves is an option for people with a good amount of fat available from the donor sites- viz. your abdomen, thighs, arms, hips or buttocks from where the fat can be harvested. The advantage of fat transfer is that your own body fat is being used, so there are nil chances of rejection or infection. But the results may not be as pronounced as implants and a touch up may be required.

You can discuss the pros and cons of both the procedures- fat transfer to calves vs Septorhinoplasty with your surgeon to make an informed decision.

Yes, you can run and do other exercises and work out after 8-10 weeks of the procedure or as directed by your surgeon.
